A Very Intimate Wedding at Chevin Lodge Hotel and Spa - Naureen and Phin

Reminiscent of a Scandinavian building, Chevin Lodge, nestled in woodland on the outskirts of Otley, welcomed Phin and Naureen for their wedding day this spring.

Phin and Naureen's day was to be a very intimate one, close family and their best friends joining them to celebrate after just a short 6 weeks of wedding planning.

I'm no stranger to couples who are planning their weddings at short notice, when you know you know right?! Well these two! They make winging it look effortless! Phin got in touch with me with just 6 weeks to plan, he and Naureen had their pre-wedding shoot just a few days before their wedding day ( I have to say I LOVED this! I felt like we were catching up as friends when Saturday, and their wedding, rolled around a few short days after) and we finalised our plans at their engagement shoot.

They live this way, their married this way. Naturally!

As a wedding photographer at Chevin Lodge, there is an abundance of possibilities. I have been lucky enough to photograph at the venue in winter as well as spring and each season offers new promises. The warm glow of the log build's interior creates cosy images full of atmosphere, and big windows overlooking natural surroundings mean you often feel you are in the wilds of Norway rather than being just a stone's throw from Leeds.

We arrived a little before their ceremony to find the Garden Lounge ready and waiting for the bride and groom and their 30 guests. On a fresh spring day the room overlooking Chevin Lodge's lake was a beautiful setting for their wedding ceremony.

Just in time to catch the guys putting on their glad rags, the day was starting to build up, with happy chatter and greetings coming from all around the lodge.

After joining their guests for a celebratory glass of champagne, we made sure everyone was happily nestled in the bar before we took a walk together to capture Phin and Naureen enjoying all that Chevin Lodge has to offer. Daffodils, Birch trees, squirrels and the calm lake are a few of the elements we had all to ourselves on our wander. Just as Naureen and Phin wished, we kept the wedding day couple's shoot relaxed and natural, in keeping with my approach. We walked, talked and enjoyed the views.

When we returned, Lakeside, the Lodge's glass fronted restaurant had been prepared for the wedding breakfast. Naureen's friend Sara had made their utterly delectable wedding cake, scattered with pansies on each tier, which sat waiting in front of a fairy light spangled backdrop.

After fantastic speeches from the bridesmaids, groomsmen, one of Naureen's boys and, of course, Phin himself, it was time for everyone to let their hair down. And let it down they did!
