Wedding at The Coniston Hotel Country Estate and Spa, Skipton - An Intimate Wedding - Winston's Barn
On Valentine's Day I had the pleasure of being Coniston Hotel's wedding photographer for Jane and Martin's intimate wedding. With less than 20 guests, Winston's Barn was the natural choice for this small wedding party. The 17th century barn with beautifully rugged bare stone walls and exposed beams, softly lit with large LOVE letter lights provided the perfect ceremony and reception location for the couple and their families. As a non-traditional wedding photographer I often meet couples who are having their wedding without the usual traditions and Jane and Martin were planning a very personal day. An intimate wedding day suited them perfectly, surrounded by the love of their close families, they chose to have an elegant and cosy wedding at Coniston Hotel Country Estate. Winston's Barn was gracefully adorned with berry-coloured wedding flowers with a wild and natural twist, by the utterly wonderful Emma of Emma Weddings and Events for the small ceremony, with more floral arrangements waiting in the wings to fill the barn for the evening wedding breakfast.
After joining their guests for a celebratory glass of champagne in the airy conservatory, we took a walk together to capture Jane and Martin enjoying all that The Coniston Hotel Estate has to offer. With a concierge service, getting around the expansive grounds was a dream and I cannot recommend this highly enough.
When we returned,Winston's Barn was dripping with flowers, filling the room with their scent and making a snug setting for the wedding breakfast, around an arrangement of tables in a square, which allowed for all of the guests to sit together as one, the flowers were set on a lower table in the centre, so ensure they didn't obstruct the view for guests across the table. Great care and attention had been put into the presentation of the barn throughout the day by the staff at The Coniston Hotel and Emma, Jane and Martin's florist.
As a wedding gift and surprise, guests were adding their finger prints to a hand-drawn family tree, made by Martin's son, when we returned.
75 Wedding Photographs at The Coniston Hotel Country Estate and Spa - Janet Wareing Photography
As wedding photographer at The Coniston Hotel Country Estate, I am spoilt for choice of locations for photographs. Located within a 1400 acre estate, with softly rolling hills, lawns, a large 24 acre lake, as well as sheltered woodland and historical architecture denoting the estate's history and dating back to the estate's original house, the opportunities for a wedding day couple's shoot are limitless.
Arriving early on the day of the wedding gave me the opportunity to scout the grounds of the estate for the best locations and opportunities available to me that day, check the ground for suitability (I like to head off the beaten track when we're able - the best backdrops are usually away from roads and paths).
As a wedding photographer whose focus is on natural and relaxed photography, my work is all unposed. Because of this, I plan a walk on each wedding day which takes in the best features of each venue's grounds and surrounding area. This gives my couple the opportunity to take some time alone on their wedding day, take in everything that the Coniston Estate has to offer, enjoy a little peace in nature and have photographs of themselves as newly weds, in the beauty of their venue's expansive grounds.
During these walks, the captivating location and the walk that I have planned, naturally give opportunities for my bride and groom to relax and open up in front of the camera, as they are absorbed in conversation and caught up in enjoying the views and wildlife.
Perfect for every couple looking to get married their way, avoid posing for the camera on your wedding day, and ideal for camera shy brides and grooms, my natural wedding photography means that you don't need to think about having your photograph taken.
If you are looking for a wedding photographer in the West Yorkshire and across the North of England, you can book my wedding photography services with no extra travel charge, and experience your wedding day without posing for photographs.
