Jayne and Matt's Sunny Outdoor Wedding at The Bridge Hotel in Wetherby
Jayne and Matt's wedding day will stay in my memory as a day of sunshine!
An outdoor ceremony and sunflower bouquets, it was beautiful.
I began talking Jayne long before we met in person, we chatted about the wedding plans that her and Matt were making and she said she would love to meet up.
She wondered whether we would travel for their wedding in Wetherby and, if you've been with me online for a little while you'll know that we LOVE to travel, I of course said yes.
When we at last met in person to fix our plans and make sure we were a great fit for each other, the two told me that they were planning to have an intimate day, with just the closest friends and family.
It's customary for me to head straight to the bride's room on the morning of her wedding, to photograph her getting ready with her girls, and to photograph the details of her wedding outfit. So when I asked Jayne if I could borrow her heels and she said she wouldn't be wearing any I paused for a second. That's unusual.
Because Jayne was wearing sparkly flip flops for her wedding. YES. I love her.
Getting ready at the hotel, there was an amazing feeling of calm and time (which is unusual on wedding days) everything was ready, and waiting.
Jayne had her sister and bridesmaid with her, and Matt was with his sons.
The weather forecast was changing all morning, and we were all checking the clouds to see whether Jayne and Matt would be able to have their dream of an outdoor ceremony.
The time of their ceremony crept nearer and we still could not tell what the weather would do. Clouds kept coming and clearing, spots of rain fell. When we couldn't wait any longer, Jayne decided to risk getting rained on!
And, boy, did the risk pay off.
It was a perfect outdoor ceremony.
The sky cleared just in time and the whole wedding party was bathed in bright sunshine.
There's something very special about intimate weddings, they're incredibly personal because each person present has a close connection with the couple.
Emotions flow freely.
And that was so true at Jayne and Matt's wedding - with teary eyes all round the couple made their vows and Jayne's sister stood to read.
After sneaking away for 5 minutes with us, and a little couple's shoot in the grounds, the new Standhavens relaxed in the sun with their guests in The Bridge's enclosed courtyard.
The reception was in the stunning Byron Room, adorned with 18th century sculpted plaster and decorated with sunflowers in milk bottles.
Even the wedding cake was decorated with sunflowers!
The Standhaven wedding was family, sunshine, and a whole lot of love.
We wish Jayne and Matt every happiness in their life together.
